About me

I am passionate about building better businesses. Because I know first-hand how this can transform our lives, and the lives of those who matter around us.

I founded my first ‘proper’ business, a product innovation agency, in my mid-twenties. I had no capital, no clients and, honestly, no clue. We grew slowly at first, then suddenly through partnerships with larger marketing agencies (Ogilvy / WPP) and technology consultancies (CapGemini / PwC) looking to expand service lines.

A partnership became an acquisition. And I found myself on the management team of a digital transformation specialist. We grew that business from £5M to £20M through organic growth and M&A over 18 months.

I moved on to support a number of privately-owned companies as an Operating Partner - including a business services company we grew via 120+ acquisitions and sold into private equity, a software business we grew organically and sold for a 9-figure sum to a US tech giant, and a number of digital and design agencies sold via trade sale.

Next, I got a call to build the Middle East / GCC business with an Estonian-based software development company. We scaled a new business unit from £0 to 25M within 12 months, sustaining and expanding over the next 2 years. And I directed on the wider company growth, which left revenues and profits doubled at around £200M and £40M respectively.

It was during this time I began receiving more and more enquiries from business owners who wanted help building to a successful exit. And that’s now how I spend my time today building partnerships privately and with my firm, Open Equity.
